White stalagmite landscapes in a valley of the Rio Chama hills near the village of Abiquiu. Georgia O'Keeffe made a series of paintings of them that she called "The White Place", or in Spanish "Plaza Blanca". this area of New Mexico is now on the grounds of the Dar Al Islam education center and mosque.

Bandelier National Monument is a 33,677-acre United States National Monument near Los Alamos in Sandoval and Los Alamos counties, New Mexico. The monument preserves the homes and territory of the Ancestral Puebloans of a later era in the Southwest.

This 5,200 surface acre reservoir offers some of the finest fishing in northern New Mexico. Reptile fossils 200 million years old have been found in the area. Abiquiu Lake
one of three trails located inside georgia o'keeffe's 'ghost ranch'. this moderate 2.5 mile out and back trail takes about an hour and half and gains 633 ft of elevation, crossing beautiful bands of rock strata, dating all the way back to the Chinle group--more than 200 million years ago.
